Who doesn’t like chocolate chips in their tea? Ok, maybe not chunks of chocolate but the flavor of chocolate is always welcomed in my book! Chocolate Chip Tea by Adagio Teas has cocoa chunks within the blend that dissolve pleasantly into the steep lending a chocolate flavor that is full-bodied and satisfying.

THE HUE
You know my favorite word to describe black teas: Amber-y. The hue is subdued, grounded, and very pleasant to day-dream into…don’t tell me that I’m the only one that daydreams while looking into my tea.
THE SCENT
One word: Chocolate. The steep permeates the air and carries the scent of warm cocoa. I’ve tasted a lot of teas that profess to be “chocolate this” or “chocolate that” but Chocolate Chip Tea by Adagios Teas actually fits its description.
THE SIP
Without 2 teaspoons of honey, Chocolate Chip Tea by Adagios Teas was heavy bodied but not did not leave an after-taste or effect on the palate. I noticed that the chocolate notes floated towards the back of the throat and were aerated and light; more perfumed than solid.
With 2 teaspoons of honey, Chocolate Chip Tea by Adagios Teas became heavier in body and tended to have more of an after-effect on the palate. Of course the overall steep became sweeter accentuating the chocolate notes that remained aerated.
THE EFFECT
A really cool effect happened when I steeped an entire tea pot of Chocolate Chip Tea by Adagio Teas and decided to put the rest of it in the refrigerator for later. Later, I sipped the chilled beverage and noticed that the chocolate notes became more evident; so much more so evident that they landed on the palate instead of just being a perfumed aroma at the end of the sip.
My friends and I thought it would be tasty to switch out the Assam black tea for Chocolate Chip Tea by Adagio Teas in my Lavender Milk Tea Recipe. It's delicious, try it!
