THE HUE
Genmaicha Green Tea with Toasted Rice by The Tao of Tea is a typical green tea color. However, I did notice that perhaps the brown (roasted) hues of the toasted rice manipulates the color of the tea.
The tea is less chlorophyll green but slightly tinted. Genmaicha Green Tea with Toasted Rice is still a beautiful tea to stare into with every sip.
THE SCENT
Genmaicha Green Tea with Toasted Rice by The Tao of Tea smells as if you are picnicking in a garden in the spring and in your picnic basket you brought toasted rice with herbs.
The scent of the steep is fresh and light but at the same time the toasted rice grounds the cup and makes the scent heavier.
THE SIP
Without 2 teaspoons of honey, Genmaicha Green Tea with Toasted Rice by The Tao of Tea is a full-bodied tea with heavy herb notes. The toasted rice grounds the airy green tea and slightly sweetens the entire steep.
With 2 teaspoons of honey, Genmaicha Green Tea with Toasted Rice becomes a meal in your cup! The herb notes and the toasted rice pair with the honey to create a fuller-bodied tea that will make you feel like you are sipping your dinner.
For those of you who have super busy schedules and would like to sip green tea with toasted rice, but you do not always have the time to steep loose leaf tea; try Green Tea with Toasted Rice by Numi Organics. This tea comes ready to steep in a tea bag and it is just as delicious!
THE EFFECT
Genmaicha Green Tea with Toasted Rice gives me energy, revives my soul and warms my heart. This tea would be perfect to serve with my appetizers to my guests before dinner.
I would definitely recommend either Genmaicha Green Tea with Toasted Rice by The Tao of Tea or the quick and convenient tea bag version (Green Tea with Toasted Rice) by Numi Organics; both of these teas are great for green tea lovers looking to expand their palette.
